Since September 2008 project director at the Collaborative Research Centre 586 „Difference and Integration“ · 1995-2001 assistance of directorate at the Leibniz Institute of Regional Geography and researcher at the section Theory, Methodology and History of Regional Geography · Since 2001 post-doc at the section Theory, Methodology and History of Regional Geography · 2003 given the award “Prof. Dr. Frithjof Voss-Preis für Geographie” (human geography) · Since 2007 senior researcher at the interdisciplinary and collaborative „Geographies at the edges of the European project“ (sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Affairs and the Saxon Ministry of Science and the Fine Arts in the frame work of the Pact for Research and Innovation and granted by the Senate of the Leibniz Association) · 2003-2006 senior researcher at “Regionalization as a strategy in locational profiling. On the production of spatial abstractions – Leipzig and the Erzgebirge“ (common directorate with S. Tzschaschel and U. Wardenga, sponsored by the German Research Foundation).
